Miraibo GO only launched a few weeks ago, but developer Dreamcube has been quick to unveil the game’s first season: the Halloween-themed Abyssal Souls.
Playable cross-platform on Android, iOS, and PC, Miraibo GO has already rocketed past 100k downloads on Android alone, with more players likely to join as the first season gets underway.
Before we tell you what to expect in Abyssal Souls, here’s a little refresher on the game itself.
In the simplest possible terms, Miraibo GO fills a PalWorld-shaped hole on mobile. It sets you free in an expansive, geographically diverse world full of deserts, coastal regions, mountains, and grasslands, and lets you catch, raise, and battle with a huge variety of fantastical monsters.
Each of these monsters – or Mira – has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to pick the right monster for the right environment, enemy, and situation.
Exploration and combat only make up part of the picture, though. Miraibo GO also features an extensive base-building component. Back at your stronghold you can assign Mira to various different tasks, such as building, gathering resources, and farming.
About Season Worlds
Abyssal Souls introduces parallel worlds to Miraibo GO, different from the main Miraibo GO world. They’re known as Season Worlds, and you can enter them through a temporal rift that hangs in the lobby for the duration of each event.
Every Season World will contain their own unique Mira, gameplay features, rules, character progression systems, and exclusive items, and once each season ends players will get special rewards based on their progress.
Naturally, it’ll be possible to use these rewards in the main worlds.
About Abyssal Souls
Story-wise, the events of Abyssal Souls are triggered by the awakening of an ancient evil in the world of Miraibo GO. This mythical horror is a powerful Mira called the Annihilator – and, like all truly evil things, the Annihilator is accompanied by darkness, minions, and pumpkins.
The darkness isn’t just for creepy vibes. Monsters are stronger at night in the Abyssal Souls universe, upping the difficulty considerably.
Naturally, your task is to defeat the Annihilator’s minions, including the event-specific Scaraber, Darkraven, and Voidhowl. You might even take down the Annihilator itself if you can muster the skills.
While experience in Miraibo GO will stand you in good stead, there’s plenty for newcomers to play for since Abyssal Souls introduces a whole new progression system. Throughout the season, levels no longer grant attribute points but modestly increase players’ health.
Meanwhile, there’s a brand new Souls system, which enables you to allocate points to a range of powerful stat bonuses.
And there’s a whole new PvP system, linked to a mysterious island that appeared at the same time as the Annihilator. Battles on this PvP island are free-for-alls, with defeated players losing their Souls.
The prize for victory is Spectral Shards, which you can exchange for special items and rewards.
There are new special seasonal buildings, too, including the Abyss Altar, the Trial Abyss, the Pumpking Lamp, and the Mystic Cauldron, along with a secret zone called Ruin Arena. Visit them at your peril.
For a bit of much-needed levity amid this parade of pure terror, you’ll also be able to don special Halloween costumes, headwear, and other seasonal accessories.
To join the event, just head to the Miraibo GO site and download the game on your platform of choice. Check out the game’s Discord server while you’re at it too.
