Albion Online ‘Horizons’ update brings a customizable HUD and a more dynamic world

One of the few actually popular MMOs that has official Native Linux support, Albion Online has expanded again today with the Horizons update out now.

This sandbox MMO update brings with it a customizable HUD with a built-in HUD editor so you can move everything around to where you want it. You can also save and share your layouts with the ability to have 10 saved at a time for different activities.

The world should feel a bit more interesting too with dynamic encampments to find as you explore for both solo and group play with some valuable loot. You might also find a special map which gives you access to a special boss lair to fight through. There’s also dynamic resource hotspots, you might now find valuable coffers to open up across the open world, a new portal system for solo players to jump to unpredictable locations for easier exploration in the Outlands and a lot more.

See the announcement and changelog for the details.

Albion Online has Native Linux support and is rated Steam Deck Playable. It has a pretty healthy number of players too. On Steam alone in the last 24 hours it had a peak of 12,842 which does not count the standalone launcher players or mobile players (all play together cross-platform).
