It’s time to enter the Hell House once again.
Director Stephen Cognetti took to Instagram to announce that filming has started on the fifth entry into the Hell House franchise. The post, which can be seen below, shows the Hell House Lineage film slate with both the director and the director of photography’s name. Cognetti states that “Here we go! While it will most likely be the last Hell House, I think it will also be the scariest!”
Written and directed by Cognetti, Hell House had its debut on October 16, 2015, at the Telluride Horror Show. The film was released on VOD platforms on November 1, 2016.
The film, shot as a documentary, follows a group of Halloween haunted house creators as they prepare for the 2009 opening of their popular haunted attraction, Hell House. Tragedy strikes on opening night when an unknown “malfunction” causes the death of 15 tour-goers and staff. The film reveals the lead-up to the tragedy and what really went wrong that night, the details of which have remained a mystery to the public.
The film starred Ryan Jennifer Jones as Sara Havel, Danny Bellini as Alex Taylor, Gore Abrams as Paul O’Keefe, Jared Hacker as Tony Prescott, Adam Schneider as Andrew “Mac” McNamara, Alice Bahlke as Diane Graves, Phil Hess as Joey Sheffler, Lauren A Kennedy as Melissa, Jeb Kreager as Martin Cliver and Miranda Robbins as Miranda Kelly.
The film is scheduled to be released on Shudder in October of 2025. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more on Hell House LLC.
